Squiggles and Bubbles’ Playful Baby theme for April is Paint. Jen is now 19 weeks old and is very interested in bright colours. As Jen is at an age where everything goes into her mouth, I wanted to set up an activity for her to play with paint in a safe way.
For this activity I used –
- Light Panel (ours is made by minisun)
- Paint in assorted colours
- Ziplock Bags
- Sticky tape
I filled 3 ziplock bags with different coloured paints and used tape to seal them and then I taped them to the light table.
Since Jen learned to roll she tends to roll straight out of tummy time so this activity has been perfect for keeping her in this position for a longer period.
Jen really seemed to enjoy the feel of the paint squishing as she touched it.
This activity has definitely been a hit and we will be bringing this out again and again. As Jen grows we will try taping the bags to the window on a bright day to have painting fun while getting in a little bit of sitting practice.
